CONSULTING AWARDED WORKFORCE
TRAINING FUNDS GRANT
Waltham, Mass. –
August 26, 2004 – Ascend Consulting
announced today that it is the
proud recipient of a two year
Workforce Training Funds Grant
from the state of
Massachusetts.
The Workforce
Training Fund is a state fund
financed entirely by
Massachusetts employers and
enacted into law in July 1998.
Its purpose is to provide
resources to Massachusetts
businesses and workers to train
current and newly hired
employees.
The mission of
the Workforce Training Fund is
to provide applicants with the
resources to invest in the
Massachusetts workforce and
improve employee skills and to
maintain the economic strength
and viability of the
Commonwealth's businesses. The
fund's major focus is on small
to medium-sized businesses.
Training funded by this program
typically includes:

Projects that
will result in job retention,
job growth or increased wages.

Projects where
training would make a
difference in the company's
productivity, competitiveness,
and ability to do business in
Massachusetts.

Projects where
the applicant has made a
commitment to provide
significant private investment
in training for the duration
of the grant and after the
grant has expired.
Grant funds will
be matched dollar for dollar by
Ascend throughout the two year
life of the grant on a cash or
in-kind basis.
Ascend Consulting
intends to use grant funds to
provide training in areas such
as advanced meeting facilitation
skills, business writing,
effective management and
leadership, high quality
business requirements, and
advanced sales techniques. In
addition, grant funds will be
used to prepare consultants for
the PMP (Project Management
Professional) certification
exam.
Ascend is

will significantly accelerate

quality training to its talented
employees.
