ASCEND AWARDED WORKFORCE TRAINING FUNDS GRANTSTraining Funds Grant
For a second time, Ascend Consulting is the proud recipient of a two year Workforce Training Funds Grant from the state of Massachusetts.
The Workforce Training Fund is a state fund financed entirely by Massachusetts employers, and enacted into law in July 1998. Its purpose is to provide resources to Massachusetts businesses and workers to train current and newly hired employees.
The mission of the Workforce Training Fund is to provide applicants with the resources to invest in the Massachusetts workforce and improve employee skills, and to maintain the economic strength and viability of the Commonwealth's businesses. The fund's major focus is on small to medium-sized businesses. Training funded by this program typically includes:
- Projects that will result in job retention, job growth or increased wages.
- Projects where training would make a difference in the company's productivity, competitiveness, and ability to do business in Massachusetts.
- Projects where the applicant has made a commitment to provide significant private investment in training for the duration of the grant, and after the grant has expired.
Ascend Consulting intends to use the bulk of the grant funds to provide a robust management training program for our extended leadership team, specifically the Performance Advantage Core Development Series, offered by Impact Achievement Group. The grant will also cover an Engagement Manager training course and a course on Peer Mentorship that will prepare Ascend to develop an internal mentorship program.
Grant funds will be matched dollar for dollar by Ascend throughout the two year life of the grant on a cash or in-kind basis.
Ascend is committed to continual enhancement of our employee skills. The WTF Grant funds will significantly accelerate our ability to provide high quality training to our talented employees.
