Waltham, Mass – June 1, 2006 - Ascend Consulting, a leading business and IT consultancy and founder of the Catapult™ methodology, has announced the formation of the organization’s Board of Advisors and its first advisor, Ms. Maureen Ellenberger. Ms. Ellenberger has accepted this invitation from Ascend president, Karl Pessinis.
Ascend Consulting has formed this Board at a time when the business has seen record growth and its services are being utilized by the most prominent organizations within the financial services and insurance markets. With the appointment of Ms. Ellenberger, Ascend has put in place a 25-year industry veteran to expand the management expertise of Ascend and oversee the organization’s strategy and performance within its core markets.

Ms. Ellenberger brings over 25-years of experience in the design and development of business software and applications as well as extensive work in the strategic and IT consulting space. Over the course of her career, she has focused on creating and managing companies from startup, acquisition and rapid growth. As CEO and president of Eggrock Partners, she grew the company from an idea to a profitable systems integration and business solutions firm focused on emerging enterprise and mid-market clients. Eggrock Partners was later acquired by Breakaway Solutions.
Prior to founding Eggrock Partners, Ms. Ellenberger held several key executive roles at Cambridge Technology Partners including Group Manager for the Southeast Region as well as management of the Innovations group, responsible for deployment of both technical and business knowledge and components across the enterprise for CTP. Most recently, she was the CEO at InteQ, an IT Services Management organization in Bedford, MA and is currently the entrepreneur in residence at Battery Ventures.
